Files — Who is touching which files
The Files view shows which teammates are currently touching which files across your project, and highlights the Git conflict surface those edits create. It is built for game and software teams working in the same repository — so two people don't unknowingly change the same asset on different branches.
Every project member can open the Files view, including view-only members. It is read-only.
Opening the view
Open a project and choose the Files tab (next to Board, Timeline, Calendar, List, and Canvas). You can also set it as your default view in Project Settings.
What you see
- •By person (default): each teammate with the files they've recently touched, the branch, and how long ago.
- •By file: each file with the people touching it and their branches.
- •Conflict badges: an amber Conflict badge appears when a file is touched by multiple people, or on two or more branches that haven't been merged yet — a cue to coordinate before editing.
- •Summary: how many people, files, and conflicts are active, and which engine reported the data.
Use the search box to filter by file path or person, and the refresh button to pull the latest. Data updates automatically every minute.
Where the data comes from
A connected engine plugin (today, the Projects.ink Unreal Engine plugin) scans your repository and publishes file-touch activity. If no plugin is connected — or a plugin goes offline — the view shows a clear "no recent activity" state rather than stale or misleading data.
The feature is engine-agnostic: future plugins for other engines publish the same kind of data and appear in the same view automatically.
